Congratulation on CTB's announcement on the company is dedicated to roll out at least 40 new buses every month starting January 1998. Within a year CTB will be able to double its fleet and surpass CMB as the No.2 bus carrier in Hong Kong.

However, doesn't more buses mean more routes and better service? Or more backup buses being available when a bus breaks down?
I thought the repair rate of CTB is better than that of KMB, as demonstrated by the time it took KMB to repair AV 1.
(or else do you know the reason why it took KMB such a long time to repair AV1?)

The more buses Citybus buy, the more buses runs on the street.
To achieve the goal of Citybus, 95% of fleets should be running
on the street. The remaining 5% actually are not enough to be
the backup for break-down buses, or for emergency use. (like
the opening of Lantau Link in May)
As a result, Citybus even use their non-franchised buses to
run on franchised routes.

The rate of repairing bus is not proportional to the safety
of the buses. The slower work of KMB does not imply that it
is worse than Citybus.

KMB owns a large mutliple of buses as Citybus. Of course the
number of break-down/damaged buses should be greater than that
of Citybus. Hence it's not surprising that the time for KMB
repairing buses is longer. Just focus on the break-down rate
between Citybus and KMB, you will know which company does better
maintainance work.

因為九巴多o左冷馬, 加埋 3AD 同 ATR, 隧道線全冷的可能性以提高.

通常九巴都會把那些車放在一些行區內的巴士線, E.g. 短途線.

I sure hope KMB will provide all A/C service for cross harbour tunnel routes ASAP. The pollution is getting wrose all the time!

Since those Kwai Tsing district board representatives always complain bus service without proper justification, such as no fare hike, KMB allocates old buses in these area as a return.

I don't foresee so in the near future either, along with 36B. The reason is those district board representatives always want low fares, which means hotdogs, when everyone else wants A/C. (at least a mix, if not fully!)
I think those representatives should try a hotdog in a hot summer day or a rainy day!

KMB did a good job for 278P. Though KMB made the excuse for not allocating A/C buses for these routes because the interchange fare structure is difficult to implement with A/C buses.
(the real reasong could be about those Kwai Tsing representatives again!)
